One Enchanted Evening de Piaget Family Lynn Kurland 9780515147919 Books
It's hard to try and figure out which order to read them in. I bought them in paperback, and go around the family tree. I like some stories better at different times. It helps to start near the top. God bless Lynn Kurland for including a family tree at the end of her books! Each book can be read as a stand-alone, but prior knowledge of the personalities adds a whole layer of intensity and sense of family. It builds with each book, no matter the order. She does a great job of pulling in character histories you may not know if you skip around. There is a nice flow once you find the best order for you to read them. For me, it's best to read by generations; any story on each level.
You can't go wrong with di Piaget and MacLoud (sp?) books.

One Enchanted Evening de Piaget Family Lynn Kurland 9780515147919 Books Reviews
Montgomery and Pippa's romance thru the centuries was well written and a lot of fun! A little over the top with her ditzy sister...personally I'd have straightened her out right off the bat...but that's just me. I HAVE sisters and they can be diva's but none of them have ever thought they were fairy queens, lol.
Lynn Kurland's books are always great and I'm looking forward to reading more of her stories. I have a very hard time putting down her books once I've fallen into them and always wish I had the next one to start when I've finished the one in my hand.
Granted, I haven't read every book - but I have read a boatload& will read more - I have enjoyed all of them, but have been remiss as far as writing reviews -
For anyone who wants to read a Lynn Kurland, but not sure if they're good? GO FOR IT! Time well spent!
It's been a while since I've read Lynn Kurland books and I'm glad to see she's added quite bit of new books since I last read her work over 10 years ago, all the more that she's continued down the line of the de Piaget siblings. I was disappointed in this book though. Mainly because I loved Montgomery in "Dreams of Stardust", he was quite an enjoyable and endearing character that I feel he deserved a better story than what "One Enchanted Evening" offers. At times I found myself frustrated that there seemed to be a lot more of 3rd person narration going on than conversations, especially between the hero and the heroine. It was not until the well into chapter 7 that Pippa and Montgomery actually had a conversation! Yes, Montgomery, exhibited quite a friendly and easy going personality in "Dreams of Stardust", and now that he has grown up and is one of the best knights in medieval times, to actually read him going along with the whole Cindi fracas was quite unbelievable. For Pippa, who has grown up in today's modern day world, to be quite tolerant of her nasty sister, was just a bit too much to take in considering earlier in the story it would seem that she and her two older sisters share a dislike for Cindi, so it was hard to imagine anyone bending over backwards to appease a mean, belligerant and conceited sister who did not have a care in the world for her younger sister. And yes, I know it's just a story, but it should at least be consistent throughout. I wanted to really like this book, if only because it was about Montgomery de Piaget, but the storyline was just too much of a fluff for me.
"Every woman should have at least a week with a medieval lord who felt compelled to protect her at all costs."
I love it!! Well, this is Montgomery de Piaget story's. I was waiting to read his story since "Dreams of Stardust" and "When I fall in love"... it was all I expected to be and more. Lynn Kurland did it again!
Montgomery used to believe in faeries and magic, but not anymore. Fairytales are not for him (and not for Pippa either) but they found each other and it's a fairytale. Sweet and cute. The way they slowly fall in love is amazing.
In addition, we can see other characters from previous stories. I specially enjoyed seeing Kendrick and Nicholas (my favorites de Piaget heros'). Now, Montgomery is a new de Piaget favorite too.
I can't wait to read Phillip story.
One of the books in the dePiaget saga, One Enchanted Evening tells the story of Montgomery and his "Future Bride", Pippa. Written with just enough intrigue and mystery to interest those who need such things, this story neatly sequeys into other tales written by Ms. Kurland of the Medieval time period as seen through the eyes of a person from the present time. It is, as always, uplifting, humorous at times, and always enchanting. I am presently re-reading the entire MacLeod/dePiaget books because I find them a great escape from reality. And these days, who doesn't need that?
The youngest of Rhys' sons believed in fairies as he had seen several strange appearances and disappearances as he grew up. But now he was a Knight and Lord of Sedgwick, when the Queen of the Fairy flies into his arms along with her servant. Hard to believe but Montgomery definitely saw them emerge from the blue shimmering light at the end of his drawbridge. Lots of fun.
I deducted a star because I became somewhat weary of Persephone being pushed around by her sister and constantly making up stuff in her head that was not connected to what people were actually doing around her. She also spent a large portion of the book agonizing about things she had concluded without evidence, while blithely ignoring facts. Also was avoiding asking questions that would relieve her stress and regularly fainted when confronted with new information that was useful. Seemed like a nice girl otherwise.
